Carwyn Jones and featuring a keynote address by Arnold Leung, CEO of Appnovation Technologies and a demonstration of an Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Experience by Martin McCabe, Managing Director of Atticus Digital.

The Rt. Hon. Carwyn Jones, AM

The First Minister of Wales is the leader of the Welsh Gvernment as appointed by HM the Queen. Carwyn Jones was born in 1967 and in Wales and London. Prior to his election, he was a barrister Criminal, Family and Personal Injury Law and a professional tutor at Cardiff University Law School. He has been a Labour Party member since 1987 and played an active role in the 'Yes for Wales' campaign. In December 2009, he was appointed First Minister of Wales. His interests include sport, reading and travel. He is a fluent Welsh speaker.



Arnold Leung, CEO, Appnovation Technologies

Arnold Leung is the founder and CEO of Appnovation Technologies. He founded the company upon his graduation from the UBC Sauder School of Business. While he is a Finance program graduate, he has always been an enthusiast in the information technology space. In 2007 he saw the emergence of Open Source technologies in enterprises and governments and, as a result, founded Appnovation with a focus on helping organizations deploy Open Source solutions. Since the company’s start in 2007 they have been named to Profit Magazine’s PROFIT 500, PROFIT Hot 50, and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. Arnold is a winner of the Vancouver Top 40 under 40 Award, BC Business’ Top 30 Under 30, and the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award. He is also a board member of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum.

Martin McCabe, Managing Director, Atticus Digital Ltd.

Martin is an expert in digital media communication, helping organisations to simplify complex messages and deliver key messages to their target audiences. With over twenty years professional experience in digital media, photography and video production, he is currently producing immersive learning experiences using virtual reality for Oculus Rift. Atticus Digital specializes in video, animation, virtual reality, and web and app development with a goal of delivering creative, innovative solutions that distill highly complicated information into a message that all can understand. As they like to say, it is, “complex made simple.” Clients include the Australian Government, BBC, BP, Channel 4, Cisco, CNN, EDF Energy, IBM, ITV, Shell and the Welsh Government.
