A TEDxNJIT event will take place on September 28, 2016 in the Jim Wise Theatre on the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) campus and also via an accompanying live simulcast broadcast available to viewers worldwide. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, is themed Innovation and Collaboration, and will feature leaders from business, academia and the arts addressing a range of topics. Speakers will explore, new modes of collaboration, celebrating art in the urban environment, social entrepreneurship, new media music, and self awareness. The event will bring together faculty and students to share their passion for new ideas and innovation.
Speakers include Gerard Adams, known as The Millennial Mentor and co-founder of Fownders a non-profit community of entrepreneurs in the University Heights section of Newark, Dr. Tara Alvarez, NJIT professor of biomedical engineering working on vision related research, entrepreneur Ron Gold who has founded LeanOnWe, that focuses on delivering a better home care experience at a more affordable price, Newark creative entrepreneur Medina, NJIT Professor David Rothenberg and NJIT student Kabir Mitra who will explore and perform new types of music, Mark Scotland, CEO of 4.0 Analytics who disucss a revolutionary technology being developed in Newark and being tested in Newark to benefit the city's environment, Donald Sebastian, President of the New Jersey Innovation Institute who will discuss collaboration in todays environment and Emma Wilcox co-founder of Gallery Aferro in Newark.
