<P><STRONG>Panel Description</STRONG>: The amount of user data generated from devices, apps and services today is unprecedented and is set to increase rapidly. Soon, drones, wearables and connected devices comprising the so-called Internet of Things will add even more user data into the world. Largely unregulated, the use of such data may yield valuable information in the aggregate. </P>
<P>While the use of personally identifiable information is more regulated - especially in the health care and financial services sectors - these new technologies present their own risks to personal privacy. How can devices, platforms, apps and services be designed in ways which respect personal privacy and give users controls over how their data is collected and shared with third parties? How are policymakers ensuring that the right data protection and privacy frameworks are put in place, particularly as the technological landscape rapidly evolves? This thought-provoking panel discussion will bring together some of the industrys leading mobile and IoT experts and privacy experts to debate these questions and more.</P>
