<P><SPAN CLASS="il">Every day, Wikipedia's tens of millions of articles are read by hundreds of millions of people. Every couple of months, hundreds of communities grow the site by around 1%, faster and steadier than most investments. And we are still just getting started.</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN CLASS="il"><SPAN CLASS="il">Wikipedia has always relied on donations. It needs its community of creators who recognize that money can only go so far. This gives developers and designers an opportunity to make some of the greatest donations of all.</SPAN></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN CLASS="il">The Wikipedia Data Design Challenge</SPAN> aims to connect designers and developers with the greatest body of knowledge the world has ever seen, as well as the community dedicated to facts, verifiability, and all those suddenly-topical areas.</P>
<P>Come learn about and build data <A HREF="http://rcmap.hatnote.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">visualizations</A>, <A HREF="http://codepen.io/halvves/full/rrxakW" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">sonifications</A>, <A HREF="https://twitter.com/congressedits" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">bots</A>, and <A HREF="http://seealso.org/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">other projects</A> based on the data that is Wikipedia.</P>
<P>We'll open with a very special keynote by <A HREF="https://twitter.com/pinboard" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Maciej Ceglowski</A>, founder of <A HREF="http://pinboard.in" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Pinboard</A>, followed by words from Wikipedia's Director of Research, <A HREF="https://twitter.com/ReaderMeter" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Dario Taroborelli</A>, and then head into tutorials on Wikipedia's rich ecosystem of data and tools. Working through the afternoon and evening, we invite you back for the second day to showcase your projects. And of course, we'll have lunch and refreshments for both days.</P>
<P>The facts of the future will need tools for the future. Come help build them today.</P>
