In its most recent report on tech exits, CB Insights highlights some trends that could keep venture capitalists up late at night.

A few of the takeaways are especially noteworthy: For the three months ending Sept. 30, there were no exits of companies worth $1 billion, and only five exits that topped $500 million.

In addition, there were 23 companies that attained unicorn status (valued at $1 billion and over) during Q2 and Q3 2015.

Companies that have gone public have not done so well either with many seeing their stock prices suffer amidst the broader market decline.

Indeed there are questions cropping about valuations and also whether cash-rich private companies even need to test the public markets.

To get an understanding of the private markets and whats driving valuations (and their ultimate exits), we have invited the legendary Alan Patricof. He will also share information on technologies he is excited about and discuss entrepreneurial traits needed for success.
